I Love a Piano is a "revusical" that follows the ownership of a piano from 1910 to present day through the songs of Irving Berlin. Ragtime, Prohibition, the Great Depression, the big band era of World War II, – it's all here in a frolic of song, dance and comedy. Lines from more than 50 Berlin songs are heard, including “Blue Skies,” “Puttin' on the Ritz,” “Always,” “Alexander's Ragtime Band,” and songs from the movies Holiday Inn and White Christmas. The six characters play a multiple of roles: hiding booze in the piano, standing on the bread line, going to war, and dancing when the boys come home. On Thursday, December 11, 2003, at the 13th annual Kitsap County Human Rights Conference, the Jewel Box Theatre was awarded the Kitsap County Council for Human Rights "Wall of Fame" award for 2003, for organizations, for our production of "The Laramie Project."

Jewel Box Theatre was voted a “Community Builder Award” for 2001-2002 by Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce for “providing a unique venue for the performing arts.”
